ASSEMBLIES. New exhibition in Godella (October 16, 2020)
Benja Carreras' sculptures are surprising seamless assemblages, made from recycled materials, rejected items and found objects that, in his hands, acquire new visions and meanings.
This show talks about giving life to things, about freeing souls from those forgotten objects that now tell us new metaphors and utopias.
The public will travel throughout the artist's artistic stage. On the main floor you will discover a large part of his first major project entitled "Second Life", with Don Quixote reincarnated as an antihero who claims the urgent need to change our environment, then you can visit "Mediterráneo", a collection of fish made with mangoes. On the ground floor, the viewer will meet two new specific projects that are still open, "Everyday Object", a dialogue with the closest objects, and the other called "Rovellats", a tribute to the countryside and that highlights the tools of ours farmer ancestors.
The exhibition will be open to the public from October 16 to November 6, from Wednesday to Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
